Welcome to Doha Academy Salwa Branch, a small school with a big heart. Our school is located in a peaceful and green residential area in Mamoura, and we pride ourselves on our positive, vibrant, and welcoming atmosphere. At Salwa, we offer a diverse array of learning opportunities to our students, and we have high aspirations for both our students and staff.

Our school is made up of four attractive buildings or blocks, and we have separate classrooms and areas for boys and girls from Year 6 upwards. Our facilities include two science laboratories, two well-stocked libraries, two computer labs, and ample outside shaded play and recreation areas. We also have WiFi throughout the school and cutting-edge interactive smart screens or the latest promethium interactive projectors in every teaching room.

We offer a blended curriculum that combines elements of the National Curriculum for England (NCfE), the Cambridge International curriculum, and the Qatar National curriculum. Our curriculum is designed to promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental, and physical development of our students in line with Doha Academy’s vision and mission. We offer places for Year 1-9 students (ages 5-14 years). Our aim is to provide an education for life, helping to prepare students for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of later life.

Apart from our academic curriculum, we also offer a range of co-curricular activities and after-school clubs, which further broaden the learning opportunities for our students. We have high expectations for all our students and provide equitable opportunities for all. We also understand the importance of providing additional academic, social, and emotional support if required.

At Salwa, we recognise the importance of the core disciplines of Language & Literacy and Mathematics & Numeracy. We use English as the main medium of instruction, except for the Qatar National curriculum subjects (Arabic, Qatar History, and Religion). We have two libraries that have been recently enhanced to encourage reading in school, and we provide various e-reading resources to support reading at home. We also expect our teachers to use every relevant subject to develop our students’ mathematical fluency.
